DayKind
Privacy Policy
Effective September 2, 2026
Data collection
The private journal has no account, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK, or cloud sync. If you choose to use DayKind Link, a separate minimal account is used only to connect participants, deliver Pulses, and synchronize an opaque connection theme.
Your journal
Your day signals, factors, notes, and insights are stored locally on your device. DayKind does not transmit this content to the developer or to third parties.
Sharing
When you choose to share an image, DayKind creates it on your device and opens the iOS share sheet. Daily notes, exact Down dates, connection names, and individual Pulse details are never included. Optional Annual Review factors, takeaways, warmth, closing note, and connection heart appear only when you turn on their preview toggles. You decide whether and where to share.
DayKind Link
Link sends only opaque account, connection, invitation, device, entitlement, theme, and Pulse delivery identifiers needed to operate the feature. It does not upload your journal, day signals, factors, notes, Insights, contacts, or local connection names.
Purchases
DayKind Plus purchases are processed by Apple. When you use Link, a signed App Store transaction is sent to the DayKind Link service so the annual entitlement and shared connection appearance can be verified. The transaction does not contain your journal.
Notifications
If you enable a daily reminder, its time and delivery are managed locally through Apple’s notification system. You can disable reminders in DayKind or in iOS Settings.
Data deletion
Deleting a check-in removes it from DayKind. DayKind provides controls to delete local app data and, separately, a Link account. Deleting the app removes locally stored journal data from the device, subject to Apple’s device backup behavior.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version and effective date will be posted on this page.
